VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) invites applications from suitably qualified persons, who are goal oriented and result driven with exceptional qualities for appointment as Deputy Chief Executive.

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
To provide technical direction to all Directorates, and support the Chief Executive in formulating and implementing policies and strategies that will drive the strategic goals of the Commission.
(i)    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a.    Advise the Chief Executive on formulation, analysis, review and implementation of salaries and wages policies within the public service of Ghana
b.    Coordinate work programmes and activities of the Directorates and Units of the Commission;
c.    Provide regular feedback and guidance to Directorates and Units of the Commission;
d.    Explore and advise the Chief Executive on possible areas of securing funding for the Commission’s programmes and activities;
e.    Oversee effective and efficient management of the Commission’s human resources;
f.    Ensure effective communication of the Commission’s policies, programmes and activities within the Commission and with stakeholders;
g.    Ensure that a robust governance framework is in place to get all employees committed to the tenets of continuing improvement; and
h.    Act in the absence of the Chief Executive.
(ii)    PERSON’S SPECIFICATION
Must have a Post Graduate degree in Economics, Public Administration, HRM, or its equivalence;
A minimum of 10 years Post qualification experience, 5 years of which should have been in a Senior Management position;
Must be a strategic thinker;
Must have strong analytical and quantitative skills; and
Must be fair, honest, disciplined, a team player and should exhibit high professionalism.
(iii)    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

f.    Change Management, and
g.    Organizational Development.
