Ministry Of Finance And Economic Planning-Press Release

PRESS RELEASE
25th April, 2012

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning wishes to announce that, owing to the rather short time span between the completion of the 2012 Single Spine Salary negotiation and the minimum period required for the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) to input and process April 2012 salaries, it has not been possible to commence the payment of the 2012 base pay increment of 18% in April 2012 as originally scheduled. Consequently the implementation of the 2012 Single Spine Salary Structure would be rescheduled as follows:

(a)    The payment of the 2012 Single Spine salary increase of 18% would  commence in May 2012;
(b)    The 2012 salary arrears for April 2012 would be paid in July 2012;
(c)     All other earlier payment schedules relating to the 2012 Single Spine salaries remain the same.

The Ministry wishes to assure all stakeholders that the new schedule would be strictly adhered to.

Any inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.

The Ministry takes the opportunity to wish all workers a “Happy May Day” celebration in advance.
