FAIR WAGES COMMISSION, GHANA IMMIGRATION SERVICE STRENGTHEN TIES
The Chief Executive of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, Dr George Smith-Graham, has paid a courtesy visit to the Comptroller General of the Ghana Immigration Service, Samuel Basintale marking a significant step in fostering a working relationship between the two organisations.
During the meeting, Dr Smith-Graham briefed the Comptroller General on the Commission’s transition to an independent body that will determine salaries for all public sector workers. He emphasised the importance of interaction, listening, and collaboration in addressing challenges and improving the organisation.
The Comptroller‑General, in turn, shared valuable perspectives on issues confronting the security sector, particularly pensions and allowances. While acknowledging progress achieved through recent amendments and administrative measures, he highlighted the need for further efforts to tackle the unique concerns of security personnel.
