GRNMA SUSPENDS STRIKE AFTER PRODUCTIVE ENGAGEMENT WITH GOVERNMENT

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has announced the suspension of its nationwide strike, effective June 14, 2025. The decision follows a fruitful engagement with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health and the government team.

According to GRNMA President, Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, the association’s industrial action, which began on June 4, 2025, has been suspended pending the outcome of a follow-up meeting scheduled for June 26, 2025.

In a statement, Ofori-Ampofo expressed gratitude to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health for their timely intervention, which set a clear framework for implementing the Collective Agreement.

The GRNMA leadership assured its members that they remain committed to ensuring the full terms of the Collective Agreement are honored.
